Body and machine merge
A merge of the human body and the machine would mean one of two things people usually mix together. One is an implant or a prosthetic that restores or extends a sense, which already exists in narrow forms, such as cochlear implants. The other is a mind copied onto a computer, or a robot body that can take any job a person can. The second kind has not been invented. There is no year for it.
What would have to be true first is already listed: a chip dense enough, a model that can perceive, a battery or power source that lasts a working day, and a body that is safe around people. The first two are partly here. The last two are why humanoids are still pilots. Even if those are solved, a walking robot is a tool a person owns. It is not a reason for the population to fall.
The population path from the UN is births, deaths, and migration. It peaks, in the medium projection, around 10.3 billion in the mid-2080s and eases to about 10.2 billion by 2100. That happens whether or not this card ever gets a date.
This page is the honest end of the chain. Everything above it was built. This step is a wish until someone demonstrates it.
