Starlink is the defining constellation: ~10,870 active satellites in mid-2026 out of 42,000 planned — more than the rest of the world combined — now adding direct-to-cell service. Amazon's Kuiper (Leo) is deploying toward 3,236, launching in 48-satellite batches on New Glenn and others.
